Bloomin onion at the fair, DEMOLISHED.
My review: nice sweet juicy onion base, crispy and salty but not excessively so. It had a lovely umami quality, a salt and pepper marriage for the ages, with a complement of horsey sauce and mayo that was like dewdrops upon a rose: necessary, artful. The heat retention was insane as well, the heart of the onion was burning hot, but like my dad always said, I'd be mad if it was cold!
Unfortunately, like any rose, it must have its thorns. The grease was almost overwhelming. I wanted to ensure my review was written at the height of my onion experience, and the grease on my phone made it genuinely difficult to type. But I can't complain, because at the end of the day, it's still a big beautiful onion.

This is the only reason we have been to the local county fair in the last decade. Well, we did watch the demo derby once, but we were eating a blooming onion. Probably would get sick if I ate the whole thing, but oh so tasty. Ours did not have as much breading as your photo
Looks delicious! That’s always my biggest gripe with blooming onions, they seem to hold soooo much oil. Worth it tho because they are so good
I’ve never had one and I think that’s criminal
Yummy, thats what it is.
you’re getting the bubble guts later for sure, worth it though for a good blooming onion
