What do you guys think? Just started in this coffee journey. Got this sage grinder for £90 off vinted, works fine! Budget was very limited. Got some beens roasted locally a few weeks ago and still dialling up but getting better shots everyday!

    Actually a fantastic setup

Outside of having a thermal block, that espresso machine is wonderful for espresso and americanos

Great start right there. #Respect 🫡

Its not limited its pefect, most people exaggerate, after finding good beans and have them perfectly dialed in, this setup is all you need…. lets be realistic

Bro this looks sick and just with that you are having a much MUCH better coffee than most.
Thats a very nice cozy corner you got there

Imho that’s all you need if you’re making 1-3 drinks a day and no more than 1 at a time 😌

Solid no fancy BS home setup. If you know how to use it, you’ll get great coffee for years out of it, and every single one still better than what you get on 90% of cafès.

  9. Love seeing affordable setups like this. You’ll make great coffee with it

Looking great. Once you properly dial in you’ll be producing better shots than Nero, Costa and Starbucks. Search this sub for past posts on dialing in etc. it’s a wealth of information. Literally thousands of posts.

I recently upgraded my Dedica with a non-pressurized portafilter, and I bought a DF54 grinder. I really want a 3-way valve and a temperature regulator. But most of the time I pull tasty shots anyway. I bought that machine 12 years ago. I will upgrade when I have more money to spare.

Thats ok, and when you like your espresso results – so what? Have fun! And buon appetito!

It’s great for the price, I have the exact same. The grinder works better for V60 and Aeropress but it also works just fine with the Dedica

just imagine an even cheaper set-up than this: I have the same Dedica & a manual timemore chestnut c3 grinder & timemore black mirror. Along with a bunch of accessories. I invest most in quality beans, very happy with the results, I’ve had a lot of way worst coffees in “specialty coffe” bars & cafes.

I have a normal coffee machine at home, but today I made one of my best tasting cappuccinos on a $50 machine from supermarket and preground coffee. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I was really surprised and didn’t expect that, but it really was good.
Then I finely ground some beans and tried that in pressurized basket and even that was good, the crema seemed like real crema and not the classic pressurized bubbly crema what also surprised me 😮

  18. The Dedica was my first machine and I’ll always have a soft spot for it 😇
