Given the success of places like Maset and The Hart, leaving any space empty for a while on Chiltern Street seems crazy. But now, after being empty for a while, the corner space on the intersection of Chiltern and Paddington streets is gearing up to open. It’s going to be Clio, and it’ll be a modern Greek restaurant.
What’s particularly interesting about this place is the people involved. The executive chef is Glen Ballis, who’s spent a lot of time in Russia but most recently opened INA in Dubai. For this London opening, he’s brought in Louis Korovilas who was previously head chef at Pied a Terre and, before that, at Locanda Locatelli most recently best known for Bancone.
The menu follows the current London trend of all things Mediterranean with a focus on grilled fish and they’re apparently rather pleased with their wine list which they say “caters equally to oenophiles and curious diners”.
That’s all we know so far, but we’ll bring you more news on the food offering when we get more information.
