Did you just discovered deglazing on your own?

Put some hot water on the pan and just let it sit there to soften up the food residue, repeat until its soft enough to scrape off with a spatula

You can also add soap to water to make cleaning other dishes easier.

This stuff should be taught at school. I feel very sad for adults who are just learning common knowledge like this.

I always let appliances clean themselves. Blenders? Food processors? I’m putting soap and water in them and letting the machine do the hard work.

Also, if you heat the pan up, you can cook food in it.

Wait till you try the baking soda/water combination while heating it to remove burnt food…..

I have no idea how this isn’t way more well-known, but … Baking soda. Or even soda crystals (used for laundry) if you have a truly nightmare scenario.

Just … Mix a bunch of baking soda into water and get it to a very light simmer, and scrape at it with a spatula or something. Strongly alkaline, hot water will absolutely rip through grease and carbon.

You gave simple advice that will help someone else who didn’t know. Don’t worry about all the sarcastic bullies on here.

Why are people being so incredibly nasty in the comments. People aren’t just born with all the knowledge you all have.

Put a mug of water or soaked towel in a microwave and get it steaming, food wipes right off the inside

If you’ve got a really stubborn pan. I have some 70s le creuset pans that my mrs managed to dry boil potatoes in and subsequently weld them to the pan.

A way to get them like new is a put them on the hob on the lowest heat and put a dishwasher tablet in it. Let it sit like that for 2 or 3 hours and they come up good as new.

That’s called deglazing also if that is a nonstick pan or a pan with a nonstick coating don’t do that while it’s hot
