Some days, nothing beats scarfing down a frozen pizza while watching TV. However, if you ate this particular frozen pizza, your health could be affected.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued a recall for the HelloFresh Basil Pesto & Mozzarella Pizza. According to the notice, the affected pies were distributed in 10 states.

What Are the Details of the Frozen Pizza Recall?

The recall on the frozen pizzas is classified as a Class II. This is when a “product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”

Bakkavor USA, an international food manufacturing company based in Charlotte, North Carolina, initiated the recall. The reason is that metal fragments were identified in the slow-roasted tomatoes used in the frozen pizzas.

According to the FDA, the following HelloFresh Basil Pesto & Mozzarella Pizzas are being recalled:

Lot 20367482 with sell by date of 6/29/26

According to a notice on the r/hellofresh subreddit, HelloFresh informed affected customers that an ingredient supplier was responsible for the metal fragments in the tomatoes. It advised them to throw the product out.

“One of our ingredient suppliers has just informed us that certain lots of slow-roasted tomatoes, an ingredient in the Basil Pesto & Mozzarella Pizza, have the potential presence of metal fragments,” the notice read.

“We are reaching out because our records indicate that you ordered the potentially impacted product. If you are in possession of the Basil Pesto & Mozzarella Pizza received on 10/08/25 and through 01/23/26, please discard it.”

This notice comes as nearly 37 million pounds of ready-to-eat items have been recalled due to possible glass contamination. Sixteen brands, including Trader Joe’s, Kroger, and Tai Pei, have been impacted.
