A Houston-area baker is putting his cookie-making magic to the test in a Food Network holiday competition airing this week.

Hosted by Ree Drummond and former NFL player and Houston native Eddie Jackson, the contest will split the competitors into teams of two. The first challenge will require the teams to make a Christmas cookie quilt, where one team will be eliminated and another will get an advantage in the next challenge. The final challenge will be for the teams to create a stadium for “North Pole games,” incorporating eggnog, hot chocolate, apple cider or mulled wine. The winning team will win $10,000 and the “Best of the Best” trophy.

Mister French’s is a bakery in the Heights that sells cookies that are hand-decorated by French. Cookies can be custom-ordered with edible images, unique shapes or even made into three-dimensional sculptures.

When French won the “Christmas Cookie Challenge” in 2019, he wowed judges with a special ingredient to his cookie creation: cayenne pepper. He won $10,000.
