Library Corner: Cooking with spices; Library Giving Day; Wine Bingo

Enter the world of spices by signing up for our Cooking with Spices program.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Tonganoxie Public Library with LJ Harrison from the Lawrence based spice company Salt & Sky.

She’ll go through the various spice profiles and show how to use and blend them to create deliciousness in your food. We’ll even create a tasty and easy herby/spice blend dip to taste. Call the library at 913-845-3281 to register for the program.

Library Giving Day is next week

Library Giving Day is a national fundraising event to help raise funds for local libraries through the generosity of people who depend on and enjoy libraries. The annual giving day is Wednesday, April 1.

From March 30-April 3, any monetary gift is eligible for dollar-for-dollar matching, up to $1,000, through the Northeast Kansas Library Foundation. Donations need to be made through the website at foundation.nekls.org/lgd in order to count toward the matching funds.

Wine Bingo coming up soon at the library

A popular annual library event is almost here again: wine bingo!

We’ll be playing ten rounds of bingo from 6-8 p.m. April 9 with a wide variety of prizes and a lot of winners. Cost is $15 to play, and this includes a complimentary glass of wine and snacks. We’re working with Crescent Moon Winery this year, and they will have extra bottles available for purchase.

This event is for those 21 years and older only and does require registration by calling the library at 913-845-3281. Wine bingo always fills up quickly, so call now to reserve a spot, if interested.
