Taco Bell-Style Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito Supremes

This speedy copycat recipe takes everything we adore about the Taco Bell Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito and makes it supreme. In Taco Bell’s world, “supreme” means adding sour cream and fresh tomato to any menu item, and that’s exactly what this DIY version does, along with refried beans, rice seasoned with a just-like-Taco-Bell spice blend, and a dupe of the chain’s popular creamy jalapeño sauce. The result “tastes just like Taco Bell, but with a refreshing and homey feeling,” says Senior Photographer Carson Downing. “My tip: don’t go easy on the sour cream! It makes the dish.”

Shortbread Cookies from Ted Lasso

Butter, flour, sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and a mere 10 minutes of prep time are all you need to recreate this famous, friendship-forging dessert. In case you missed it, a box of buttery soft-set shortbread cookies helped Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) win over his tough boss and team owner Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) on the heartwarming Apple TV show. According to Senior Food Stylist Annie Probst, “These look just like the ones from the TV show. They’re the perfect balance of sweet and buttery with a little hint of salt.” Just tuck them inside a pretty pink box, and you too can have biscuits with the boss.

Disney’s Ratatouille

During the 2007 Pixar movie, Remy says, “If you are what you eat, then I only want to eat the good stuff.” Food Stylist Holly Dreesman confirms that this French recipe, a copycat of the movie’s eponymous veggie side dish, is more than good. “Even though it’s baked, it doesn’t feel heavy at all. It’s really light,” Dreesman says, thanks to all the thinly-sliced vegetables, fresh herbs, and bright olive oil. “I could have eaten the whole pan.”

Chili Dogs

Compared to classic chili you’d spoon with by the bowl, hot dog chili is often sweeter. And in music to many Texans’ ears, it’s usually bean-free. Skeptical, especially after seeing ketchup as part of the starting line-up? Don’t be, declares Design Director Stephanie Hunter: “This chili is 10/10! It’s the perfect consistency for chili dogs. No mess, no stress! It won’t fall on your shirt. The perfect gameday party food.” Spoon it over your favorite hot dog, or try it as a snack, as we did on set. Hunter says the chili is stellar scooped up with chips, too.

Wisconsin-Style Blood Mary

Wisconsin is renowned for its supper clubs, its cheese, and its unique twists on classic cocktails. (You don’t need to be in Wisconsin to understand the appeal of the Brandy Slush and the Brandy Old Fashioned!) One of our favorite mixed drinks the Midwestern state has become famous for? The “True Wisconsin Bloody Mary,” which recipe creator zlee5 says is “best when consumed before noon.” If you ask Senior Food Editor Caitlyn Diimig, there’s no bad time to take a sip of this brunch favorite.
“I love the clamato in this drink! Most Bloody Marys are too acidic for me, but this one is smooth and refreshing with the just right amount of spice,” Diimig says.

Domino Cookies

All of the flavors of an Oreo cookie, now in a soft and chewy, bakery-style cookie. Just add a glass of milk for dunking! Allrecipes Allstar Alex Roberts tested this recipe 20 times to ensure they’re perfect. And they most definitely are, according to photographer Brie Goldman. “I love the chewy texture, and they’re not crazy sweet or too rich,” she says. “The white chocolate chunks are melt-in-your-mouth yum,” Goldman raves.

Pad Thai Salad

For a complete meal in one bowl, marry the concepts of lettuce salad and punchy Pad Thai (stir-fried rice noodles). Garnished with chopped peanuts and fresh lime wedges, just like the sweet-savory-sour Thai restaurant favorite, this dish is overflowing with color and “great pad Thai flavors,” says Senior Culinary Specialist Juliana Hale. “The salad is much easier to make than you can imagine, and the greens make it so light and crunchy,” she adds. Enjoy it as-is, or toss in grilled shrimp or shredded rotisserie chicken to make this a heartier dinner.
