I just upgraded from my trusty BBP to the new Fellows Espresso Series 1. So far I'm impressed. My first run was a simple Americano. Didn't tweak any settings, I just loaded in the same 18g of a local medium roast I run every morning through the old Breville. I didn't even tweak the grind size. The Fellows produced a significantly smoother shot. I'm looking forward to going further into the capabilities of this new machine.

Anybody else using this machine? Any helpful hints you've figured out?

Was gonna say grind finer but then read that it’s an Americano lmao

  2. The fun will really start when the firmware arrives within the next few days.

Nice. I’m sorta waiting in the wings to see how things go with the early adopters. This really seems like a machine with a rich feature set for the $$$. I also like the low profile.

One major reservation I have is that from my understanding, all the functions are software based. I would much have preferred some buttons providing physical redundancy for when, not if, there’s a screen and/or software failure.

Wow love that machine! That’s really cute and great! How much it cost?

That espresso machine looks amazing, but I can’t justify spending $2k+ CAD on a espresso machine that hasn’t been in the market for at least 5+ years.

I would do a blind buy if it was like… Maybe… $1,200 CAD, but I know that isn’t happening. So I’ll just wait the 5+ years.
