A few years ago I posted my espresso setup to mixed reviews on this sub. I heard your concerns and just want to update you guys and let you know that I have finally reached my end-game setup:

•Bialetti Moka Express ($50 at Macy's)
•Lavazza pre-ground coffee ($19 at Gourmet Garage)
•Vintage 1930s Italian espresso cup (Free from my grandma)

I don't wish to make anyone envious with my complex equipment but I just want you all to know that I am proof that a beginner's setup is only the beginning, you too can achieve your end-goal.

    moka is not espresso

    my pleasure to assist

I’d say the espresso cup is a downgrade from the fancy Turkish coffee cup. Fancy me biased.

Just about to head to our cabin for a week; While there we only have access to a wood-burning stove and a moka pot. I swear the coffee there is amazing every morning.

I’ve recently begun considering buying another moka pot for home because the coffee it makes is just *so damned good* and sometimes I miss my moka pot since it lives at a cabin 6 hours away.

  4. people in this subreddit don’t drink lavAzza pre-ground Italian espresso because they’re racist against italians

Thank you OP for being brave enough to post this

    Nice setup!

If you are happy with the espresso you are drinking each morning then bravo! You have indeed reached end-game. Enjoy!

  6. Love this setup!

Your real mistake was upgrading the machine before you upgraded your can.

Try Rostinni Caffè, they have great coffee beans, freshly roasted and free shipping

I wish this shit was restricted to the cj sub, this sub is becoming completely useless

  10. You might not like it but this is what peak performance looks like

Haha and good old LaVazza. A classic. Funnily enough I am soo deep into specialty coffee but a few weeks ago I was stressed and had no time. I was just craving for a simple espresso in the morning. A classic one. So I got back to LaVazza and because it’s not really fine I even took my double wall basket. The one coffee that brought me into the coffee rabbit hole. Haha. Two weeks before that I bought a Cup of Excellence first place winner and I’m still thinking about possible endgame setups but it was soo easy. No thinking, not dialing in, no variables that need to be adjusted. Just take a spoon, fill that portafilter, press a button and it tastes like it used to taste 10 years ago. 😮‍💨😅

You forgot to mention the stove top upgrade cost.

When I think of Lavazza and espresso, I always think of that dripping p.

I sold all of my espresso equipment for this exact setup.

    I’ve never felt better
