A CARE village chef has received national praise for her dedication to cooking with care.
Sarah Scott, who works at Belong Warrington in Latchford, a specialist dementia care village, was highly commended in the Care Home Chef category at the Great British Care Awards.
Having won the North West heat in November, she went on to receive national recognition for her fresh and flavourful meals.
Ms Scott said: “It was an incredible honour to represent Belong on a national stage among so many inspiring people from across the care sector.
“While I am deeply appreciative of this commendation, the work is truly a team effort, and I feel very lucky to do a job that I love every day alongside such great colleagues.”
Judges praised her compassionate approach, describing her cooking as “more than just a craft,” calling it “an act of care” that brings “comfort, nourishment, and joy to residents.”
Her role involves preparing meals for residents and customers of the village’s community bistro.
Barry Devine, general manager at Belong Warrington, said: “We are delighted that Sarah has received recognition on a national level for her commitment to her work and the impact this has on the lives of people living at the village and the wider community that we welcome to the bistro.”
The annual Great British Care Awards acknowledge those working in the care sector throughout the UK.
