I was in a mall here in South Florida and there was a macaron kiosk so I went to give it a try. I was shocked that they were getting $20 for a 4 pack selection. They were good but nothing out of the ordinary. What is the going price by you?

    Western WA they’re typically $3-$3.50

Are you talking about a Laduree cart by chance? If so, you’re paying for the name. South Florida is a fan and has quite a few of them. Better in Paris than the humidity IMHO.

I’m west coast Florida now and find them at $4-5 dollars around here.

I’ve been seeing around 3 a piece here.

I was doing delivery and had a stop at a bakery. When I realized it, I grabbed my wallet and decided to get myself a treat. My go to is lavender if they have it, and then I saw Cereal Milk. And honestly, two of the worst macarons I’ve had. Crazy sweet with no balance and hardly any flavor. To think that I could buy all the ingredients and make two batches for the price I paid was incredibly irritating, lol.

At this point, with inflation, a solid market strategy would be to just sell them at lower cost. I know for most bakers, once you get it down, you don’t have that many disasters. I appreciate the work it goes into them, but it’s not like we’re out here laminating 30 lbs of dough or being structural engineers for a wedding cake.
