Noooo. Kimchi is good but this is complete bs. There is so much we still don’t know about microplastics. Furthermore if it’s in your blood streams and all of that like they claim. It would not be able to pull it out of your bloodstream.

    Please stop spreading misinformation

This is pure clickbait. The actual paper in question shows that some of the bacteria involved in kimchi fermentation _may_ contribute to a higher binding and excretion rate of nanoplastics. But the experiment was done in the lab under lab conditions and it used the bacillus directly rather than in kimchi. The reality is, I think, that anything that has a lot of fiber (as good kimchi does) is going to have a positive impact on your digestive health and the health of your gut biome. The fiber is far, far more relevant than the bacterial content as most of the bacteria will not survive conditions in your stomach. The bacteria in your gut, OTOH, love fiber.

Isn’t kimchi usually packed in plastic? Rarely see it in glass jars anymore.

As someone who eats Kimchi everyday there are plenty of benefits beyond the claim in this headline. First and foremost it’s delicious!

  7. Science is a verb, not just a noun. The scientific method is an iterative process. It starts with hypothesis, small studies which may or may not scale up, may get nullified by subsequent studies etc. None of that should diminish the value of publishing such work. That is exactly what the scientific temperament and process is supposed to generate.

Our understanding of science should focus on how science works (the scientific method as a process) rather than just the facts it produces.

Lol. To make space for all the new nanoplastic you just ate with the kimchi? 🤣

Look man, Koreans are one of the few races of people on earth that intentionally eat stuff that’s good for them. I know that my body feels better when I eat kimchi and other fermented dishes. It would not at all surprise me if this was true, but I’m inclined to believe it.

I don’t believe it but I’ll still eat it because it’s the best
