My girlfriend called me when I was on vacation to tell me my cellar was making a weird noise, I told her to shut it down until I came back. Even when shut down it kept running it seems because all the bottles in the left door at the bottom are frozen solid and the bottles at the top are very cold but still ok. The other door is room temperature. Are my bottles ruined? Should I organize a special night soon to drink them all before they all go bad?

Would drink them pretty quickly just in case… if the cork didn’t full come out you should technically be ok but wine is alive, freezing it definitely messes up with it.

    Sorry for your loss…

Bottles on top might be ok, but depends on if it froze at all

The dyquem drink now. Esp the full bottle as the cork is protruding

Edit: looks like the pommard took some damage and the cork is protruding a bit? I’d take another look at that

Invite people over, you’re having an impromptu wine party.

I did a youtube video about what damages wine the most. Blind tasted heat, freezing, light, air vs a recent bottle. Frozen was the worst of them. Drink up!

Thaw and drink! Serendipity gives you a special day! Invite some friends and nobody will ever forget it.
