After ten or so years of slowly learning and upgrading, I think I have a permanent solution. La Cimbali DT-1 plumbed into reverse osmosis, an MW3 Bomber F74 Navigator grinder, a SR800 FreshRoast home roasters for incredible beans at $7/lb, and daily ease of operation awesomeness and quality.
I know, I know, but now that I’ve gotten to the point where there is no part of my setup that I can imagine replacing, it’s purely a matter of skills and roasting preferences. Life is kinda coffeegood.

More and more people will realize that for a truly significant upgrade, home roasting is the way.
I’ve got one of those coffee specific popcorn poppers that maybe I should try to use again so I don’t buy more unnecessary gear. What’s the $ per green lb one should look for to get a quality of bean that’s $30/lb roasted? Any recommend you got I’ll take.
Also love thst machine you got.
I buy online—the nice part about green coffee is that it doesn’t stale out like roasted coffee does. So I buy 5-10 lbs at a time from Happy Mug, Burnham, one of those. Usually runs $6-7/lb and it loses maybe 10% of its weight roasting it. The roasting comes out pretty perfect with almost zero practice. And I can do any light/medium/dark profile.
Clean, compact, and classy. Love it. Perfect use of a small space!
