Hi all! Working on some wedding shower cookies and my client has asked for a wedding logo on the cookies. Do you think it will be possible to pull this off with royal icing? If so am I going to have to do it in 4 separate parts since it overlaps two different ways?? Trying to workshop it in my head so open to any/all ideas or feedback. Thanks in advance 😊

OK so first thought in my head would be:
1. Flood the cookie
2. Outline the whole thing
3. Add in the the internal horizontal lines.
Honestly this looks like it will be a lot like lace. A ton of tiny detail lines and a ton of time. I absolutely think it’s possible, just a ton of work!
That’s so intricate I would recommend fine tip edible markers like tweets or finding someone with an edible printer to print them for you. All those little lines will get messy so easily with royal
Ok I forgot to add that the S will be filled in solid with green and the M pink. So no lines, just the letters overlapped in two different colors!!
Oof!
In a perfect world and with access to all technology, I would
1. Floor the whole cookie with your background color
2. Digitally print the M/S logo in the two colors
3. Pipe the outline of the M and S parts with their respective colors using an 01 tip.
I’d stop looking at this as overlapping, and think of it as a flat image. Pipe and fill each section separately, letting each dry before piping any sections that will be touching. Keep your icing thick, use a scribe to drag any fine points to keep them looking sharp.
Is using an edible image an option!? That would be the easiest, cleanest, & sharpest way to do it. I’ve done edible image for many cookies and they always look great.
I would outline and fill the segments of the M first, just working around the overlapped parts. Then, go back and outline and fill the S segments if you don’t like how it looks, consider outlining again on top of the flooded segments to highlight the overlap.
