Chef Kodie Kazuki previously was at Zen, and then decided to open his own counter. Surprisingly, there is not much influencer and internet chatter about Shizuku compared to some of the other Toronto sushiyas. The chef seemed less chatty with non regulars but friendly.
Service was attentive and focused on the details. When we walked in they were measuring the exact distance for table setting. They were friendly and provided lots of context to our sake pairings.
Sourcing was good for the price and nothing was disappointing. Nigiri were well formed. Shari was punchy but I have a poor palate.
Nigiri served was: Shirakawa, Kannuki, Torigai, Isaki, Aori Ika, Akami, Toro, Aji, Kuruma Ebi, Uni, Anago, Kanpyo Maki
Various add ons were available which aren’t pictured such as nodoguro, a really good hamaguri, akagai, iwashi as nigiri etc.

I was treated to Zen by my best friend back in 2020, right after some of the COVID restrictions were lifted and restaurants opened
One of my fondest memories! Looking forward to trying this when I’m back in town
I’m quite glad Shizuku is a sleeper in Toronto’s omakase scene. I hold it’s one of the best omakase dollar for dollar in the city. That choux (I believe an ankimo filling?) is special.
