I’d like to thank everyone who shared their thoughts and experiences in my previous post. Your feedback helped me with my decision. I leaned into the YS640s.
The only accessory I purchased was the cover but the grease shield looks like a good idea.
I assembled the grill myself this afternoon and my initial reaction is simply wow! So far I am super impressed with the packaging design and experience of assembling the components. It is not every day that you come across something packaged so effectively and efficiently. Made for a breeze to complete.
Tomorrow I will do the burn off, season, and bread test.

Congrats and enjoy. Looks awesome. I’d say experiment with different pellets. I’ve settled on the Sams club Smokehouse brand which is owned by Bear mountain because they’re $15 a bag for 40lb and I can’t justify the cost of name brands when there is basically no difference as far as I can tell but that’s just me
Congrats! I love my 640. Id suggest doing the biscuit test a couple times with the damper in different positions so you can figure out your hot spots.
