An Illinois establishment is the fifth best in the nation for fine dining, according to popular travel site Tripadvisor’s recent Travelers’ Choice Awards for Best of the Best Restaurants.
La Grande Boucherie in Chicago took the No. 5 spot in Tripadvisor’s list of the “Best of the Best” for fine dining. The establishment describes its fare as a fusion of traditional French cuisine with Chicago’s River North culinary heritage.
Restaurants recognized among Tripadvisor’s “Best of the Best” receive a high volume of “above-and-beyond reviews and opinions” on the review site over a 12-month period. “La Grande Boucherie brings the elegance of a Parisian brasserie to Chicago’s River North, blending the indulgence of a classic steakhouse with refined French charm,” spokesperson Rachel Busler wrote in an email to the News-Democrat. “Set in a 10,120-square-foot Belle Époque building, the two-story, 381-seat restaurant features 25-foot stained-glass windows, custom mosaic marble floors and curved ceilings. The beverage program includes an extensive selection of predominantly French wines, signature cocktails, and a curated absinthe collection.”
