Thomas_peck

Whenever there’s a sale. Ribeye and New York Strips for $8.99-$9.99 a lb. Sirloin for around $6-$9 a lb. Chuck from $5.99 to $9.99 a lb.
Perception_4992
How much did you pay by weight?
Cainesbrother
We have steak every Sunday. At least the Sundays we are home for supper. We get thr ribroast from Costco and I cut it into 1.5″ thick ribeyes
DrStrangeloveGA
Specifically steak? Not often anymore. Maybe every 3 months, probably less.
I normally cook filet when I find it on a deal, maybe $15.99-$19.99 a pound.
If steak is going to be as expensive as it is now, I’d rather cook something else.

Yes.

Not often enough and too much.
UnhappyWalrus3570
Only ribeye, mainly holstein, 2-3x month, 50-70 eur/kg
jrmev
My wife loves steak so usually once a week. I vary the cut, including anything from $12/pound (sirloin) to $30/pound (filet) with an occasional wagyu thrown in. I don’t want to get her too used to the better cuts.
AntSpirited4096
Every weekend at around £20 a kilo for cheaper cuts of 100% grass fed
washed_king_jos
Im going to let you guys in on a secret. For the past few months costco has been selling prime ny strips for 16.99/lb. I havent seen anyone talk about it but ive been stocking up hard. Seems like an incredible deal to me when publix charges around $20/lb for choice.
drty_dog
Twice a week, between 30 & 60€ per kilogram. And I eat about a kilo per week.
Appypoo
I’m in the US and will tend to have it about once a week.
I just recently saw costco sell some striploin for 10.99 a lb. It would have equated to about 10-12 good size NY Strips for about $120 usd.
They were doing a similar thing with Ribeye where a whole roast was about $15 a lb.
I’m usually buying picanha which is about 9-13 a lb where I’m at.
Others have shared similar pricing but overall beef isn’t too terribly priced in the us.
Thornediscount
Almost daily.
NumberVsAmount
Every Sunday. My top 3 are:
Ribeye: $18-$23 per pound
Tri-tip: $10-$14 per pound
Picanha: $10 per pound
Senior_Trouble5126
We cook it every other day or three bc we’re on carnivore. Find deals locally that range $6lb to $14.
angelt0309
At least once a week. I bought a half cow and all of my meat broke down to $10/lb.
FreshPlates
I would eat it every day if I could but my husband prefers chicken over steak so I can’t make it every day 🙄
jynx18
I buy when on sale and will buy the max allowed and freeze extras. I just picked up a couple of bone in choice prime rib roasts and cut the bone out and cut it into ribeye steaks. $8.99 a pound on sale at ShopRite in NY. Generally make steaks every week or two.
Fun_Muscle9399
I buy steak at Costco. I buy a mix of sirloin, NY strip, ribeye, and sometimes filet. I buy choice over prime normally though. I don’t pay much attention to the price per pound, but I spend maybe $100 a month on average for steak.
Potential-Ad1122
Sir Lanka – 30$ about once every 3 months
MY4me
Went from once a week to 1-2x a month, mostly because busy with kids / harder to find time. They do love “pink steak” though so that’s a win.
I was all Ribeye, all the time, but as beef prices rose I started to buy tenderloin steaks and filets. Cost per steak was similar or less than buying big ribeyes and they eat lighter. I go for “tenderloin steak” that’s not a perfect filet cut but can always find a few great ones for $20/lb which is a steal in my area.

I’d say once or twice a week for sure. In regards the price we shop from the same place. Just usually I get a whole 2-3kg rib-eye which is around €28/kg, and I cut it up into 5cm steaks, vacuum seal them and freeze them. You save a ton this way
Twice a year we get sales like this for Easter and Christmas, last Christmas it was $4.59 a pound. Texas has tax breaks for ranches.
canuevendoublehaul
Once a week/every other week, I buy a whole cow and pay $7/lb
BeefonMars
2-3 times a week. I get mine from Sam’s Club. I found it to be the best quality for the price around me. I also buy a half cow, grass fed every January.
saltyisthesauce
Once or twice a day. Jacks creek black Angus Flat iron costs me $38 a kg and the sirloin cost me $50 per kg. I don’t pay for the one I eat
CokeCan-N-Marbles
Several times a week, usually from Costco, Sam’s occasionally Kroger and Central Market. I get well marbled steaks no matter if it’s choice, prime or some type of Waygu. Prices are all over the place… cheapest $6.99 a pound as high as $40 a pound.
robdelterror
£30 off shop lifters for that lot.
Capt_Dunsel67
I have a subscription with SRF. Every 4 weeks. About 400-500 per month. Grill every Sunday with the family.
buffalocoinz
Rarely. Bought a ribeye today because it’s $7.99 per lb. First steak in two or three months.
btone911
Steak? Couple times a month. I buy a side of beef every 2 years. Far better quality than the pink slime that’s now unregulated.
X-Ciaphas-Cain
Practically every weekend and on sale for about $9.60 CAD, regular price $14 but I always wait until I see a bunch with their 30% off stickers which last time was 25 steaks, for a 300 gram ribeye that one of my local grocery stores brings in from Australia or New Zealand, for you Americans that’s $6.89 and about 10.5 oz.
They’re not gonna win any awards but they’re petty good, and no the big price sticker isn’t covering a bunch of fat
Almost everyday until the roast is done. I buy 17-18lb prime ribeye roasts and cut them up, vacuum seal, freeze, then put a few out to defrost in the fridge. Pay a little over 200 for the roast.
zippyzebra1
£7-10 for sirloin
Anarkie13
Steak we usually do at my house about every other week. Sometimes there’s a steak based dish I don’t count. Like stir fry or pot roast. I’m talking straight up slabs of steak.
As for how much, we keep an eye out for specials at a local shop. We average 140 to 160 for a dozen steaks on special. Usually prime grade. 12 steaks is 2 steak dinners for my family. So I think the cost is good at that rate.
animalcreature
A steak probably once or twice a week. I get grass fed ny strips from Frankie’s free range meat for about $17/lb
Content_Emu9781
Once a week and the steak cost between 90$ and 130$
