From tapas to matzoh, this week, the Baltimore food scene delivers a little bit of everything. Here’s a look at what’s coming up:

Openings & announcements

Bar Dali, a tapas bar in the Hotel Ulysses, is now open. The team behind this new spot has some serious chops – it includes the Woodberry Kitchen and La Jetee crew.

Wanna Smash, a new smashburger spot, opened in Canton last week.

Happy anniversary to the Love, Pomelo crew, who celebrated two years in business this past Thursday.

Getting warmer

In anticipation of opening day on the patio at Dylan’s Oyster Cellar, the restaurant is hiding mystery gift cards in the Little Trinket Library on Elm in Hampden. Check out the library daily from now through April 14 to try to nab one.

Speaking of outdoor dining, patio season is also back at Rye Street Tavern, where live music has returned for the season.

Cece’s patio is also now officially open for the season.

Matzoh at Ethel’s

In honor of Passover, Ethel’s Creole Kitchen has made some beautiful matzoh ball soup available to take home in pint or quart-sized batches.

Latte Art Throwdown

Baltimore Coffee Collective is back with a new installment of its latte art throwdown competition. This one takes place on Friday, April 3 at Vivian’s. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the pouring starts at 7 p.m. The event is open to the public and participation is $10 with proceeds going to BARCS.

Easter plans

Easter is this Sunday, April 5. If you don’t have plans yet, don’t worry: there are plenty of options around town.

Charleston is open from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Easter, offering a variety of holiday-oriented specials, such as roasted rack of lamb.

Limoncello’s Easter Sunday brunch specials include soft shell crab benedict and uova pasquale – poached eggs in tomato sauce with caramelized onions and peppers over polenta and pancetta.

The Ruxton is open at noon on Easter Sunday and offering its full menu.

The Duchess will serve a special a la carte menu for Easter and is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Union Hill is open for Easter brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

La Jetée will offer its regular brunch options on Easter Sunday and will also welcome a stop-by from Crimson & Clover who will be selling fresh flowers and plants outside the restaurant.

German wine supper

On Friday, April 10, Chef’s Expressions pops up at the Gramercy Mansion for an intriguing evening of German wines and food. The multi-course meal includes dishes like wiener schnitzel and greens paired with a 2020 Riesling, and duck sauerbraten with cabbage croquettes and gingersnap gravy matched with a Pinot Noir.
