I spent about 3 hours over the last couple days modding my Gaggia with the Gaggimate Pro mod. It was actually really nerve wracking but I can’t believe that I got it right in the first try – no leaks or shorts (yet).
I loaded the Adaptive v2 profile and the espresso is actually transformational! I didn’t realize you could get that kind of taste out of this machine. This whole setup is probably like $700. I’ve been down the espresso rabbit hole for a while now and despite buying a pretty great grinder (Timemore 064s), my shots were either bitter or really unbalanced.
I brew mostly light roasted coffees (pour over and espresso both) and I’m actually really happy with my coffee in a long time, feels like I’ve unlocked something. So thankful for the obsessive nerds like me that made this project possible!
AMA about the setup or install or anything else!

Uh huh… sure…
Is that a single boiler machine? If so ? are you saying you want to spend the rest of your life with a single boiler? ……. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

You’re still missing the Amoled screen upgrade
I just drink coffee.
Any ram upgrade? 🤣
I’ve run a Gaggimate for 6 months and it’s been solid. I get around the lack of dual

boiler by just using a Dreo BaristaMaker for milk. Sacrilege sure but who gives a shit.
I also get my mobile espresso fix via an Outin Nano.
Hey congrats on the successful mod! I’m curious about your frustrations with the shots you had before upgrading – did you still find the occasional success with this setup or was it frustrating all around? What were you frustrated by?
“What have they done to you, brother?”
Nice! I’ve been eyeing this setup as well. Was it difficult modding?
Impressive! Maybe a nitpick but is there a way to hide the browser toolbar from the screen?
lol “endgame” he says
See you at the next upgrade!😂
Holy ¤%&! I love gadgets, but you my man, are nuts! Love it.
From the moment I understood the weakness of my analog controls it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of electronics, I aspired to the purity of the blessed digitization. Their kind cling to their inconsistent temperatures, as if it will not decay and fail them. One day the crude single boiler that they call a temple will wither, and they will beg our kind to save them. But I am already saved, for the machine is immortal…
👏🏼 Incredibly impressive–good for you! But could you add a few more screens to the setup, and *really* put the Decent folks to shame? 😉
And side-note, thanks for the honest assessment of the ease, and not, of the modding, which so often gets categorized as easy-enough. Your being an engineer, I value your take.
I’m just saying it’s a great machine! But to be using any machine for the rest of your life doesn’t sound very exciting. And that doesn’t take him into account new tech technologies in current tech technologies that it doesn’t have.
Endgame would be Gaggia Classic Gaggimate side by side, working as dual boiler setup.
