Hallo zusammen! 😊

Ich habe gerade meine ersten beiden Bags von DAK Coffee Roasters bekommen und bin total gespannt – für mich ist es das erste Mal mit DAK überhaupt.

Die beiden Coffees:

∙ Pretty Nuts – Catl Anaerobic Natural, Cabo Verde, Brazil (Peanut Butter, Grand Marnier, Forest Fruits)

∙ Strawberry Kiss – Local Landraces, Natural, Arbegona, Ethiopia (Strawberry Jam, Star Fruit, Apricot)

Beide sind als Espresso ausgewiesen.

Mein Setup:

∙ La Marzocco Linea Micra

∙ DF64 Single-Dose Grinder

I don’t have your machine or grinder but will say the beans should be rested for at least 2 weeks.

The grind size will probably end up finer than you originally thought. Especially the case with Milky Cake. Pretty Nuts not as fine as MK.

With DAK I tend to do around 19.2-19.6 g in my 18g VST basket as i need that amount to get the right headroom. I could actually do a bit more but then find it hard to tamp without over spilling grounds.

Sorry that’s not very helpful but all I got !!

  2. I got no useful info for you but just wanted to say DAK is the most interesting and fun coffee roaster I have ever tried! Had a few different beans from them now and I dont recall ever being dissapointed by any of them, hope you have the same experience!

As a general, don’t hesitate to break the “1:2 in 0:30” rule. Currently brewing 1:1.3 with some medium roasts in about 0:20 and the flavor is amazing. Play with your dose and times to get the best flavor you can from your beans

DAK can be a bit tricky to dial in. I’d start around a 1:2 ratio (18g in, 36g out) in ~25–30s and adjust grind from there.
