I moved from Europe to the US 7 years ago and my god, coming back and seeing a wine list like this and thinking about what I’d pay in the US for the same stuff… incredible

Uniquement des grosses maisons, une carte des vins qui fait vraiment pas rêver les amateurs de belles bouteilles !
Pour nous en France ça reste cher pour cette qualité là.

That’s an expensive Whispering Angel. I guess people will buy it anyway because of the brand.

Beyond Bordeaux (a bit boring) it’s all mega commercial tho. I mean, Tariquet, Latour, ….

Offtopic but why is wine in US restaurants so expensive if they don’t even have to pay their staff a living wage?

not a very inspiring list tbh. prices are ok, but apart from that?

Except the chateau blagny it’s globally a shitty wine list … You should take the sangria Ahah

Chateau Mejean? What were you eating? In the US you have far better, more consistent, alternatives, with all due respect to French wines. But I wonder how many French nationals would hold up Mejean as their international pick as well?

I’d imagine you make this point with Chateau Haut-Bailly or La Mission Haut-Brion vs US prices.

Martillac is good wine – red or white

So hard to judge many of these as they haven’t listed the vintage

France is a country that makes great wines. Ever since I started drinking French wine, it’s been hard for me to go back to wines from other countries

Ah. No vintages. Always a good sign.
