Again, given out local place a budget with the instructions “surprise us”.

– Delamotte 2018 BdB: clean, fresh, lemon and apple. Fresh, a crowd pleaser. 91

– Roagna Timarosso: this one had us stumped. Was it a clean white burg? Or a high level Albarino? Definitely not Italy. Honey(suckle), mineral tension, some citrus? WOTN 93+

– Niepoort Charme: went straight to Pinot Noir here, guessing burgundy. Black and red fruit, some oak, mid+ acidity. 92

– Cecile Tremblay burg rouge: great length and depth for a non village level wine. 92+

That Niepoort is extraordinary for a Douro.

Is this green man wines in Dublin?

Blind tasting non traditional varieties like Timarosso is very difficult if not impossible as most tasters have no reference point.

Not only did you taste Charme but you tasted one with considerable bottle age. Top

Pretty cool that they opened a Cecile Tremblay considering it’s incredibly hard to source any of her bottles.
