For centuries, South Africa’s wine story has been synonymous with the sweeping landscapes of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek in the Western Cape province, but the Highveld is now penning its own chapter.

“The wine industry forms a critical part of tourism in the country,” says Francois Stremmelaar, General Manager of Kievits Kroon, regarded as the ‘winelands in Gauteng’. “For a long time, the focus has always just been on that experience in Cape Town, but there is now an opportunity to experience everything the country has to offer in the capital city instead of just going down to the Cape.”
