The Tuscan estate returns to Verona with new vintages that truly capture its terroirs and the spirit of the winery

April 8, 2026 (Riparbella, Italy) — Caiarossa returns to Vinitaly (Hall 9 – Stand D16) with an exhibition space that conveys the profound bond between the estate and its production philosophy. The stand, featuring natural materials and a striking wall created from recycled wooden crates, will showcase the winery’s full range of labels, with particular focus on its iconic red wines. The design has been conceived to express, through details and dedicated content, the values of harmony, sustainability, and continual research that have always guided the estate.
Among the highlights for tasting are the new 2022 vintages of Caiarossa, Aria di Caiarossa and Pergolaia, wines that interpret in complementary ways the richness of the estate’s diverse terroirs.
“The wines we are presenting in 2026 authentically reflect the character of our vineyards and their varied terroirs,” says Francesco Villa, Technical Director of Caiarossa. “They express balance, complexity and a distinct sense of place, the result of meticulous work both in the vineyard and in the cellar.” He continues: “The 2022 vintage has given us wines of remarkable finesse, depth and natural freshness, qualities that will accompany them beautifully as they evolve over the years.”
Located on the Tuscan coast, surrounded by Mediterranean woodland and hills overlooking the sea, Caiarossa is owned by the Albada Jelgersma family, who since 1998 have carried forward a vision of production rooted in harmony with the environment and in the principles of biodynamic and organic farming, enhancing the vitality and identity of the soil. It is within this natural and cultural landscape that wines distinguished by finesse, complexity and authentic territorial character are born; wines shaped by ongoing research and the family’s unwavering dedication.
Alongside Vinitaly, Caiarossa will also take part in Summa 2026, scheduled for 11–12 April at the Alois Lageder estate in Magrè. For over two decades, the event has served as an international benchmark for producers committed to sustainable agricultural practices. It will host the new vintages of Caiarossa’s labels as well as their Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a true expression of the estate’s ecosystem.
ABOUT CAIAROSSA
The energy of nature gathers strength and shelter near the medieval village of Riparbella, on the Tuscan Coast. Lush vegetation, fruit trees, olive groves, vegetables and aromatic plants together paint the colours, aromas and wonder of a unique landscape: the very place where Caiarossa was born. By day, a magical light created by the sun’s reflection on the distant sea; by night, a vast star‑studded sky. The sense of enchantment is profound, embracing the winery itself, red like the earth’s core, set on the south‑west slope of the hill.
It was in 2004 that Eric Albada Jelgersma decided to acquire an estate in this special corner of Italy, bringing with him the experience he had developed over the years in Bordeaux with Château Giscours, the renowned winery in the Margaux appellation.
Eric Albada fell in love with this small yet beautiful estate, nestled in the Mediterranean scrub on the western side of a hill overlooking the sea. Today, his children Dennis, Derk and Valérie continue in their father’s footsteps, pursuing ever greater precision in the production of the wines.
This pursuit is rooted in a deep connection with the rhythms of nature, which is why the estate has followed the principles of biodynamic agriculture since its inception, with the aim of enhancing the vitality and resilience of the soil. The wines of Caiarossa are unique: refined blends that emerge from a balance between experimentation and harmony. A sense of equilibrium that offers a virtuous interpretation of the territory, through a French lens.
