But we’re predicting that Sorrentina – a rich tomato sauce flavoured with garlic, basil and mozzarella – will be the next flavour hit you’ll see everywhere.
It’s the star of the Coles Finest Potato Gnocchi with Sorrentina Sauce, a light and fluffy gnocchi with a delicious ready-to-serve sauce.
Recipes and video content creator Stella Morelli tried it out, describing it as a “luxurious Italian-style pasta” that’s “on the table in minutes”.
It’s the newest iteration of Coles’ popular self-saucing gnocchi range, which includes THAT TikTok-viral Cacio e Cacio e Pepe version.

Making the Coles Finest Potato Gnocchi with Sorrentina Sauce is simple: simply cook from frozen in a stovetop saucepan or microwave following packet instructions.
Stella cooked it on the stovetop (which Coles recommends for best results), advising: “Add a splash of water, cover and cook for four minutes. Then simmer for another three until the sauce is glossy and the cheese is melted.”

According to Stella, not only is the Coles Finest Potato Gnocchi with Sorrentina Sauce easy to make, but it doesn’t sacrifice on flavour.
“The texture of the gnocchi is spot on,” she says.
“They’re so soft and so pillowy. Throughout the whole pasta, you get pops of mozzarella cheese, it’s so good.
“Paired with that rich tomato sauce and the basil, it’s a perfect dinner.”
