Ron Yates Winery has opened a new 8,800-square-foot tasting room in Hye, Texas, ahead of its 10-year anniversary, expanding its presence along the popular Texas Wine Trail.

The winery will host a grand opening celebration on Saturday, May 2, 2026. On that date, Yates will release two new wines from a boxed wine series at the winery’s Texas Hill Country estate and show off the new facility, with a wood-fired pizza oven, a stage for live music events, a private tasting space, and 7,000 square feet of covered outdoor seating. It had been in the works since at least 2024, per past MySA reports.

The original winery, founded in 2016 by Austin-area vintner Ron Yates, has built a loyal following over the past decade and was among the most awarded Texas wineries in 2024, according to industry data site TopTexasWines.com. The expansion comes as the Texas Hill Country continues to gain national attention as one of the country’s top wine destinations.

The new tasting room, which sits on a 17-acre property, “significantly expands the winery’s the winery’s hospitality experience,” according to a news release. The tasting room will boast sweeping vineyard views and a number of “elevated” amenities, including seated tasting, a guided library wine tasting program and a full-service kitchen.

Yates said via the release that the tasting room represents a new chapter for his popular winery.

“Over the past decade, we’ve built a loyal following. This space allows us to welcome more guests while keeping the fun, relaxed, friendly atmosphere people love,” he said in a prepared repsonse. “Our goal has always been to make great Texas wine in a place where people want to spend time, and this new venue lets us do that in a bigger way.”

Should you visit the new tasting room, you’ll be able to enjoy the option of ordering a flight of flagship Ron Yates wines from the convenience of a central tasting bar or sip on a glass — or a bottle  —  for seated tastings.

The festivities will include a performance from the Austin-based electronic rock duo, Ghostland Observatory. Tickets cost $60 per person.
