Tried my first overnight smoke – it rained of course. The auger jammed, which I assumed was because of the rain – but when I emptied the hopper and fire box the pellets were dry! I found this bolt sitting at the back of the auger! Has this happened to anybody? Does anyone recognize this part from Traeger products? Was it mixed in the pellets?! I’m at a loss and frustrated – I don’t know what time the cook stopped, but my brisket was 72 degrees internal when I got to it – would it be safe to eat after cooling mid cook? Send help!!

Hey! It looks like you posted an image!

If this is a photo of one of your cooks, maybe share the recipe and techniques
used, as it’s almost guaranteed one of the first questions you will be asked!

    *What seasoning did you use?

*How long did you cook it, and at what temperature?

*Did you use any special tricks or techniques?

    Traeger on!

Ehhhhhh. Me I would take the loss. Not worth getting sick over a few bucks. Dang that sucks. I don’t recognize that part so might wanna start sifting your pellets.

I think that bolt looks like an appliance adjustment screw? Maybe!
But I’d plug that brisket into the first fire I could get going!
It’s not over till it’s over!

If it’s metal it’s probably an elevator bolt. Typically used for conveyors. It appears to be stainless so it would track that it may have gotten into the pellet bag during processing. Source, I sell a lot of these to manufacturers.
