I had this experience with my dad a couple of time with wine. Used to get really nice bottles and he wouldn’t pay a blind of notice. He only cared about one thing. Was it red? Now I get him a few bottles of red for what I used to spend on one and he loves it.
I still drink the nice ones and he has a glass and we both get to do what really matters, hang out.
Seems like you got to do what really matters too. Hope you had a great time because that looks amazing. Happy birthday to your dad and hats off to the chef!
