A winery in the interior of São Paulo has just achieved an unprecedented feat: winning the gold medal in one of the world’s most prestigious competitions. Casa Soncini earned the highest recognition for its 2024 Syrah Rosé, produced in the highlands of the Jurumirim Reservoir, in the southwest of the state.
The award attests to the quality of “winter wine, “ a technique that has been putting southeastern Brazil on the map of major global labels. Furthermore, the title reinforces São Paulo’s potential to produce premium winesthat compete on equal footing with traditional European labels.
Casa Soncini: from the interior of São Paulo to the world
Casa Soncini’s international recognition came during the Vinalies Internationales 2026, held in March in the city of Cannes (France). Considered one of the most acclaimed competitions in the sector, the event featured 107 international judges who blind-tasted more than 2,600 wines from 44 different countries. Amid so many competitors, Casa Soncini Syrah Rosé 2024 secured the Gold Medal, confirming the high standing of Brazilian wines.
Opened in 2017, the winery was founded with the goal of exploring the privileged terroir of the Jurumirim Dam. By using the double pruning technique (which reverses the vine’s cycle so that the harvest occurs in winter), the winery extracts the maximum flavor from the Syrah grape.

It also pairs well with seafood, risottos, soft cheeses, and white meats.
Anyone who wants to try the award-winning wine doesn’t need to travel the 300 kilometers to Itaí. On the contrary: the taste of victory is just a few clicks away! After all , the Casa Soncini Syrah Rosé 2024 is available for R$ 108 (price as of 04/10/2026) on the winery’s official website. An excellent value for a world-class wine that embodies the identity of the São Paulo countryside.
