Comfort food at its best! Melkkos is a South African heritage dish. The recipe for the traditionally Afrikaans creamy, milky, cinnamon concoction using cake flour(Non Keto) is often passed down generations. This is a Keto adaptation of the dish. Eat it warm on a cold winters night as a light meal or dessert, or eat it cold during the day. Easy to make and delicious to eat, kids of all ages love it. Give it a try!

Ingredients:
900ml full cream milk
500ml fresh cream
50g butter
2 tbsp vanilla essence
2 tsp erythritol/stevia mix
200g almond flour
200g golden flaxseed
tsp salt
cinnamon powder
berries (optional)

Instructions:
Mix the Almond flour and salt and rub the butter in the dry mixture until it resembles a crumble consistency.
Combine the Milk, Cream, Vanilla Essence and sweetener in a pot and heat slowly to boiling point.
Lower the heat of the milk to a simmer and add the crumbed mixture while stirring with a whisk. The almond flour does not lump like cake flour, to thicken add the flaxseed in batches till you have a desired thick consistency.

To serve:
Serve hot, or refrigerate and eat cold. Taste great either way.
Serve the melkkos with a knob of butter(if hot) and a sprinkle of Cinnamon and berries(Optional)
