As I journey into keto I have been trying to replicate my regular Chai masala habit. The idea of bulletproof Chai just doesn’t appeal so here is what I’ve been doing. This recipe isn’t really designed to help meet macros but for comfort and taste.

Ingredients:
Green cardamom pods (5 to 6 or to taste)
Whole cloves (3-4 or to taste)
Roughly 1 inch fresh ginger

Black tea leaves/powder (2 tablespoon)

8 to 12oz water
1/2 cup silk coconut milk (not canned)
1/2 cup half and half (though I plan on trying heavy cream in the future)

Preferred sweetener

1. Grind spices and mash/ crush ginger. Add to pot with water.
2. Separately mix coconut mile and half and half (or heavy cream)
3. Bring to water and spices to boil then add tea leaves
3. Add in coconut milk/ cream mixture to pot.
4. Reduce to simmer and simmer for about 5 to 10 mins occasionally stirring.

Roughly makes 2 servings. About 6 to 8 oz per serving. Really depends on how much water you start with.
