Trying low FODMAP for the first time. Eliminating apples for now seems to have really reduced my gas and bloating! I am about to dive into “Fiber Fueled” by Dr. B, in order to further my knowledge on digestion/the gut.
One odd food I tried that was on [this list](https://www.ibsdiets.org/fodmap-diet/fodmap-diet-chart/) was an unripe banana, peel and all. Not the greenest banana I’ve ever seen, but pretty darn green. I ate one just fine yesterday. However, when I tried eating one today, my mouth immediately felt irritated.
Does anyone know of any compound(s) in an unripe banana peel which may cause irritation in the mouth? It wouldn’t be pesticides, correct? They were conventional bananas… If I do this again, I’ll probably go with organic to be safe.
