Salad Ingredients:

10 oz Romaine Lettuce Mix

1/2 Red Pepper

1/2 Red Onion

3 Fresh Jalapenos

The Best DIY Salsa

4 Tbsp Sour Cream

1/2 cup Mexican Cheese Blend

4 Tbsp Fresh Guacamole

Cilantro

Seared Ahi Tuna:

2 Ahi Tuna Steaks

8 Tbsp Montreal Steak Seasoning

2 Tbsp Olive Oil

2 Tbsp Butter

1 Tbsp Whole Black Peppercorns

Build your salad base first because searing your Tuna will not take long.

Start with your lettuce, I prefer a Romaine lettuce blend. If you are looking for a higher iron intake add some baby spinach to your mix. Then add your choice of vegetables. I use chopped red onion, red peppers, and fresh jalapenos. I normally do not add Roma tomatoes if we are trying to keep the carb count low.

Add a layer of Mexican cheese. Now to work on your Tuna.

I prefer my Tuna to have a nice pink center and seared on the outside. Heat your pan with about 2 Tbsp Olive Oil and 2 Tbsp butter. Add a sprinkling of whole peppercorns. Coat the Tuna steak on each side with Montreal Steak seasoning. You want to make sure it has a nice coating so when you sear it you get a seasoned crust. Once your oil is hot and your butter has melted but before it starts to turn brown place tuna steak in pan. Sear on each side for 3 minutes. If you like you tuna cooked thru you can leave for longer. Let tuna steak set for 2 minutes before slicing.

Top salad setup with tuna steak, The Best DIY Salsa, Fresh Guacamole, and sour cream. Serve with Keto cheese chips.
