Hey guys, hoping someone can provide some insight for me. I was always led to believe evoo, especially cold pressed, was premium oil and is actually healthy and good for heart and cholesterol when used in moderation.
My dad recently had a massive heart attack and is now on the Dean Ornish diet. It seems that this diet promotes Canola Oil, something I had never heard as a heart healthy oil. Last night we got into a pretty long debate over evoo vs canola and he sent me these articles one written by ornish himself.
I started my plant based journey a few months ago mainly for the health benefits. I have seen other people like Chef Bobby Parish say Avocado Oil and Evoo are the best oils to cook with and that Canola Oil is highly inflammatory.
So, what gives here? What does the latest science tell us. What do you guys think?
