Those are tteokbokki, which are rice cakes in a sweet and spicy sauce.
First wash the rice cakes in cold water and separate them. Then you’ll need to cook the rice cakes in 240ml water until they soften, then add the sauce and whatever toppings you like. If you cook the rice cakes and the sauce together for a little bit, it should thicken into a gravy-ish consistency. If not thicken it with a bit of corn starch slurry.
If you’re not sure about the heat, don’t add all the sauce at once! I personally can’t handle the spice in a normal tteokbokki sauce so I add it a little at a time, add some sugar, and cheese to help with the spice! This is usually why I have to use a corn starch slurry to thicken mine, because I don’t follow the recipe!

Rinse the rice cake in water. Put in pan with 240 mil water. When it starts boiling, lower heat until rice cake and fish cake are coated in sauce (4-5 min). Add carrot onions, jjolmyeon (noodles) makes it more delicious.
-my roommate always just added instant ramyun noodles😁
