I was in Seoul recently and went to a restaurant called 장작집 Korean BBQ ([Naver Link Here](https://naver.me/FxXLsmyc) and [Instagram](https://instagram.com/jib.company?igshid=YTY2NzY3YTc=))
My partner and I ordered “달콤 양념 – 누룽지 통닭 (콘, 치즈 추천)” which was a spatchcocked rotisserie chicken with scorched rice underneath and topped with a sweet corn and cheese mixture. I’ve included a picture of the food and menu here (apologies for the bad lighting): https://imgur.com/a/pRSwFSq/
I’ll be dreaming of the scorched rice for the rest of my life— it was sweet, caramelized, perfectly crispy. The corn & cheese mixture was definitely Corn Cheese (콘치즈).. I’ve found recipes for all the components of this dish, but as a whole dish I don’t know where to start in my search. I saw a lot of restaurants in Seoul serving dishes similar to the one I had, so I’m assuming it’s pretty common? Does anyone know what this dish is formally called or know of any good recipe resources? I don’t think I can replicate the scorched rice caramelization on it’s own without the mystery sweet component of the dish I ate (maybe Korean rice or corn syrup)? I know they cooked the chicken separately and then assembled everything in a skillet before playing but that’s all I could see in the kitchen from my vantage point..
Thanks in advance for any help!!

sweetness most likely comes from the 양념 sitting on top
There’s no specific name for this dish, as it’s just tongdak with toppings. Was the rice sweet independent of the sauce? Can’t think of any other reason it would be unless they made a sweet nurungji.
