Jjajangmyeon and Tenpura (not tangsuyuk! explanation in comments)

    The first pic is 쟁반짜장 with seafood (sauce+noodles fried together), and the second pic is 덴뿌라 (tenpura). This alternate name for tangsuyuk has its origins in the colonial era, where tangsuyuk served without sauce but instead just salted or with a side of soy sauce was referred to as tenpura, as tangsuyuk implies the accompaniment of the sauce itself. You don’t find it on menus much anymore as it’s a practice of old-fashioned Chinese places in Korea, but I always order it when it’s available because I don’t much care for the sauce.
