A little anxious to see how it turns out. On low for 8 hours. Made a simple rub of brown sugar, garlic powder, paprika, S&P, and a hint of Danos Original. And butter of course.

I’m very curious to see how this will turn out. Are you following a recipe, or is this purely an experiment?

I’d never even considered this. How’d it go?!?!?

I love slow cooker chicken. Nice and juicy! My whole family stole my recipe. Be sure to brine it first for best flavor. I usually put veggies on the bottom for the side.

You can do the same to turkey breast. Recommend brining it then seasoning it with french onion soup base.

Skin is softer, but the meat is tender. No it’s technically not better than roasting it but that’s just obvious, we’re here for easy meals aren’t we? I do this all the time with no regrets.

This is one of my favorites! So yummy!

  8. It might turn out weird depending on how long you do it. It’ll be super tender meat, random bones incl spine, skin, and juices I’d imagine.

I’d maybe put it in a bit longer, still looks raw

Slowcooker chicken comes out tasty and tender, but my problem with it is it’s so tender the meat literally slides off the bone – and then you have hunt for some tiny bones.

Add about 1 1/2 cup of hot water to it. Helps make an awesome broth. You’ll know it’s done when it falls off the bones. You’ll love it!

I love slow cooking a whole chicken, but I always skin mine first. The skin just gets soggy in the crock pot and I’m not going to eat it. Plus, your seasoning goes directly on the meat and can absorb better.

If you want to use the skin for something like broth then leave it, otherwise I recommend removing it prior to slow cooking.

Either way it will be very tender and tasty!

I add frozen veggies toward the end. Cooking in the chicken broth its really nice especially over a plate of fluffy white rice.
