Wondering if this was safe to eat raw. I found it in the sashimi aisle and it has the little fake leaf decor they put in the ready to eat trays, but noticed when I got home the tray is different, it says fillet instead of sashimi, and the price seems a little too low

You bought salmon filet, belly side. If it was sliced up, it would’ve been sashimi. Probably a customer left that package there and picked up already prepared salmon sashimi.

That is a damn good deal on salmon! I’ve bought many times here in my local supermarket fresh and used it for sushi and I’m still alive and well.
Nowadays, if you’re buying from a reputable big chain, 99% of the time, you’re good I’d say. There are so many controls along the way.

You bought salmon filet, belly side. If it was sliced up, it would’ve been sashimi. Probably a customer left that package there and picked up already prepared salmon sashimi.

That is a damn good deal on salmon! I’ve bought many times here in my local supermarket fresh and used it for sushi and I’m still alive and well.
