Today’s batch cook is underway. A slow cooked bolognese with lots of healthy vegetables and herbs. Will report back in about 6 hours with an update!

If you dig olives, you gotta try a Cuban dish called picadillo. It’s similar to a bolognese, but with different spices and has green olives. We serve it over white rice. It’s so yummy. [picadillo](https://icuban.com/food/mobile/picadillo.html)
Your bolognese looks great, I’m going to try something similar soon. You are officially the olive lawyer.

Finally a post from an american on this sub that isnt just meat and carbs
I’m no olive fan, but I’m not going to hate on you for it 🙂 It looks colorful, and I’m sure you’ll love it, and that’s all that matters!
And it’s not “the soup” or a Mississippi pot roast 🙂

Damn, the gatekeeping is out of hand in this thread.

What the fuck lol
Idk what you think a bolognese is, but this ain’t it. Black olives? Bell peppers? Random greens? Just dumping red sauce on a bunch of random af vegetables does not make something a bolognese.
Is this post bait? Because I feel like it has to be.

Do you use any liquid for this? Is this something you just threw together or is there a recipe? I’d like to try something like this. Anyway, it looks scrumptious.

Oops! All Olives!

The lack of soffrito, and milk makes this clearly not a bolognese.

Delish!

This guy thinking the “hot take” is the olives. There’s so much more going on here that bastardized the actual dish. This is the equivalent of throwing sweet baby rays and a piece of pork in a slow cooker and calling it barbecue.

Of all the subs, this is the most snobbish sub I follow and it’s a sub dedicated to primarily doing things the easy and lazy way. Who knew there were so many gourmet chefs in here waiting to pounce on the posters of r/slowcooking?

I will try making a bolognese in the slow cooker. The recipe I use does call for many hours but I always did it on the stove. I am not an olive fan but it looks very healthy with all the veggies.

Hi all, I’ve just posted an update so the hate/love can continue: https://www.reddit.com/r/slowcooking/comments/10v8aqo/an_update_on_the_contentious_bolognese_slow/
Screw the purists. This sounds delicious!
That’s not bolognese
This sub has turned into just showing what will be made instead of finished slow cooker meals
Yum!! I love this. I’m also on the 3 veggies with things I cook train, and this is perfection in a crock.
Sorry man, you do you, but I just threw up in my mouth a little. Black olives are nasty.
Add some white wine some Goya adobo and you got Cuban picadillo!
Another good dish for Olives it Puttanesca
