I am looking at the healthy canning website and have two questions about this recipe they have posted:  [Home Canned Chili](https://www.healthycanning.com/home-canned-chili).

1.  The recipe calls for using only pint size jars processed at 75 minutes.   I would like to use quart jars and am wondering if you would recommend this and if so how should I adjust the processing time?   They do address this in their comments but I do not like the idea of adding beans when you serve the chili.

2.  A few of the comments mention that the recipe comes out very ‘thick’ and they address that by adding water or tomato juice etc.   Could I substitute diced tomatoes with juice in lieu of some of the crushed tomatoes they call for?   If so would I need to make any other adjustments?

Thank you!
