How big are your drain holes in those whit tubs?
I've got over 200 tomato seedlings and about 100 pepper seedlings. But I plan on selling some hopefully. Better to have too many than not enough
High tunnels looking great Jill! Farmer Pop is doing a great job too!
That's a lot of seed starts!!! But you never know if they'll take or not, so it never hurts, especially during these crazy transitory weather months. Looking very good & grateful to see your Pops doing well. God bless y'all 💕
My hens have started laying again. I have Buff Brahmas and I usually feed Nutrena Nature Wise mixed with some brand of scratch feed that has marigold seeds in it–I can't remember the name. The Brahmas usually lay very lightly in the winter months but it seems like they are starting in a bit early this year. Everything looks good in your greenhouse!
They look amazing. Everyone is buying seeds from the survival seed store. And I've only heard great things about them. I'm going to order tonight. You guys do a great job. But that looks like it's going to keep you all busy for the season. I'm planting extra spinach this year too. I love it in my smoothies Dryden powdered with banana pineapple and coconut water. I also have a smoothie where I use fresh pears and apples beet powder spinach powder and kale powder. I put in a splash of lemon juice and apple cider vinegar, with a little honey. Oh my God it is so good. I haven't about an hour after I get up and that keeps me highly energized way into the evening.
You can never have too many seed starts, you never know what is around the corner. Smoothies are a great way to get nutrition. Great tip for using the lids for the transplants. Looking forward to the carrot canning video.
Looks fantastic. ❤ never too many, but you can plant too few.
Hey Jill your garden looks great. We are going to wait a few more weeks however going to plant potatoes in the 30 gal containers. Prepped a bunch for food for the 365 channeled and the vedeo will come out tomorrow. Grow grow grow! God Bless yawl. Mike
Your plants look very healthy!
I now know, I do NOT have a seed starting problem…😂🤣 I always over plant..But, then again. I don't have a lot of garden space…YES, I'm lying, I do have a seed starting problem.. 🤣 I can't help myself..😂
Thought about you yesterday. Filled the canner with mostly jars of butternut squash and a few with mushrooms. Going to use the mushroom broth that we didn't use in the jars for hot and sour soup later. You are way ahead of me on your challenge though!
You can never ever have too many starts! You never know when you may need back ups or if you meet someone who needs some. Having lots is always a good idea!
Just curious…what is that you are pressing into the ground by the tomato plants? It looks like it is connected to that hose. Is that some kind of watering system? Things are looking good in the HIgh Tunnel.😊
So good to see you, Pops and the little seedlings. Great start. gonna wait just a bit before trying some. But can't wait. Great girls are laying.
You can never have too many starts, I just run out of room to put them. Prolly why were gonna be adding more bed. 😊. Everything looks great Jill.
Looks good Jill!!! And not sure if you know to (which you probably do) glass water them eggs!!! They’ll keep for a year or so, from what I’ve read and watched. Thanks for ll you do! God bless 🛐💟💯‼️
WOW that's a lot of seedlings, better too many than not enough.🙃😉😊
It does a heart good to see Pop working right along side of ya. These are memories to pass down, how y'all and Pop beat the hunger plans of 2023+. It must do wonders for his self esteem and sense of being needed. We needed this video more than you know. Thank you Jill 🙏❤️
Wow, it's a good thing you've got Pop there to help you with all those starts. Wishing the best to all trying to plant and grow food this year. May God bless all our gardens.
No such thing as too many starts!
This is Texas… No such thing as too many seed starts with our weather LOL God bless from over here in Celeste
No such thing when in doubt plant more
Got my survival seeds and will be starting some of them tomorrow. Thank you for sharing these seeds! We have 80 degree temps this week as well. Do you mind sharing how you fertilize your spinach and kale? They look so green and healthy! I use blood meal in my soil but would love to know what you use. Your seed starts are amazing! Blessings my friend!
Hey Jill, do you know if you can seed start green beans inside? I had a horrible time getting them to germinate last year and replanted three or four times. Once they finally started growing decently, it got too hot for them to flower. So I didn’t get many green beans last year. I thought I might try to start them inside this year, but I heard from one source they don’t transplant well. Thoughts?
I was up potting my tomatoes this evening for my little back yard garden. Looking forward to March.
THUMBS UP
Glad to see that your chickies are producing. We have always paid more for a raw feed from a small company on the west coast. I am so glad we did. Ours slowed when they molted, but never stopped. Now that the days are longer, they’re right back to where they should be. My friend hasn’t had a single egg since November. Her chickens are only about 2 years old. 😮
Not to worry! I can drive up there and take some off your hands when they get ready to plant 😜
Hi! I was watching Murdocks Madness Patriot and he uses two solo cups to plant seedlings in. It would eliminate one step…very interesting how he does it. Check it out when you get a chance.
Planted chives, thyme and parsley today indoor plant homestead some success on sage and marigolds but not real impressed with myself
Wow—Don't know what else to say. THAT is a lot of seed starts. Good job gal. All of you…terrific teamwork. Jesus bless.
Hey Jill! You have been on my mind the last few days. That's a lot of starts girl!! So GOOD to see you and to watch you and pop working together. Y'all are so blessed to have that kind of camaraderie, take it from one who never knew what it was like. No new starts but I have a large tub of a shorter carrot variety, 2 grow bags of greens and lettuces and a small herb pot. Hoping to start a few strawberry pots over the deck railing this weekend. It is so great to finally be back to the usual routine and getting outside again. Hugs and prayers for success for all the growers. This time is precious. 💕🇺🇸😘
You can hang on, see if you need them. Then you can give them away or sell.
If I’d of had extra last year, I know to little old ladies that would not of been paying 5.00 each for Bonnie plants!
