Let’s look at some of the key sowings to do in March for self-sufficiency! You can also include everything mentioned in last month’s video too (link below). Just be mindful that for the majority of these itis still too early to sow outside (zone 7/8) unless you use a coldframe.

As someone currently feeling like I am having an anxiety attack at the moment, this guy seems like the embodiment of the opposite of that.
I"m in zone 4b in the USA so just trying to wait out the weather. I did sow some seeds in my tiny greenhouse (does freeze) and am going to experiment to see if they come up when the weather suits them. A bit like free tomatoes that pop up in my garden when they are ready.
Thank you Huw. I love your channel it’s so helpful 🙏🏼
Loving this 'what to sow' series, super helpful, thanks Huw! -G,x
6:06 😂🥰😍
I’m desperate trying to resist planting too much too soon! Haha
Really wish I had a greenhouse and pollytunel, dieing to start seeds 😢 from Ireland
Using Abundance Academy, I planned my garden yesterday. I felt like I was planning a frippin' WEDDING!🤣SO GRATEFUL to have such a useful tool! GO GET HUW'S ABUNDANCE ACADEMY, Y'ALL!

Great video , super helpful . Im really considering giving the golden beetroot a try … we arent a fan of purple beets (mainly they are just so messy) Watching all the clips of your amazing garden gives me major spring fever!
In addition to Sautéing Perpetual Spinach, we like to use the leaves in salads. The leaves are a sweet & crunchy addition to salads.

Love the cooking b rolls. I'm trying to figure out what to do with beet root besides feed it to the horses!
Woke up to snow this morning, and such a thick layer of ice on my crappy cheapo greenhouse that I couldn't unzip the door without destroying it. So I can't even check on what I have in there right now. The weather for my area has just been bonkers so far. Starting cotton and peanuts inside today, and repotting cacao and sweet potato slips. I'm in 8b, and like to challenge what I'm told I can grow.
I've got a tiny garden, I say garden but more like a building site, about 4m deep by 6m (c. 24sqm) across the front of my southwest facing wall to my flat in Zone 9 on the mid west coast of Scotland. There's about 5-8cm of topsoil then building rubble. So I'm going for raised beds which will take up about 12sqm, maybe 16sqm.
So I'll not be producing much, herbs are a definite and lots of them. Is it even worth considering anything else, anyone?
My father love you videos can you put Spanish subtitles lots of love from Spain 💕💕💕💕
LoL it just snowed an inch here. It went from 50s to a high of 28 tomorrow. Ain't planting any tubers now. SIGH. I cant wait to sow my seeds next weekend though!
Who here thinks Huw is one of the healthiest human beings they have ever seen? You are what you eat.
Thanks for the video, Huw!
What to sow in March in India?
May be a silly question, but where can I get the seeds for field beans – are they the same as field beans for green manure?
I've had some success actually sowing things out now in England zone 8b, I've got a pumpkin seedling that's actually doing quite well and the only thing I've done is cover it with half a bottle, even survived a frost under there so if you made the mistake of sowing too early outve excitement (I'm guilty of this) that's always an option for you if you're without a greenhouse or coldframe
Zone 9a creeping into 10 here, just went through an awful windstorm but thankfully my seedlings and tomato plant came through like champs 😂 Were already getting into the mid 70s (Fahrenheit) here. Here’s to all of y’all that are still waiting to plant cause of the snow and cold!
In minute 2, what is the metal tool being used called?
I started growing three years ago. Just in pots in a very small garden. The first year I had endless supply of lettuce and spinach but the last two years they haven’t grown. I have also tried to grow some inside on a window ledge with no luck. Don’t know why
I fancy new potatoes to plant but lettuce never like why?! Green leaves yuk 😂 unless drowned in mayo a waste of time to me!
We still have snow on the ground, USA zone 6a, last frost Mid May..
Black Simpson lettuce Hue you will love it one of the best iv grown. Good cropper also great I mean delicious kids love it
Hi🌹🙋🏼❤
Ilive in zone 8 and I grow radishes, lettuce and some others outside with no covering in January, February and March
My February indoor grow station is full up. I will have to wait til mid-March before I can grow more seed.
Should you sow crops in batches and a few weeks apart to ensure you don't harvest everything together for example sow some potatoes this week them wait a few weeks and sow another batch or do you sow everything together and then harvest at different times?
Same with tomatoes and spinach. I grew some last year but found I had too much at the time of harvest and had some wastage whereas it would have been better to staggering sowing so I had some more later in the year
I'm in zone 8 and plant everything other than nightshade
Noted for September here in Tasmania!
Love your videos but the cold frames are so fragile and cheap for the price. Basically staples holding it together. For the price it is not even close to a good deal.
Great info and fun video!
The four links for cold frames and all don’t seem to be working? But maybe it is because I am in U.S.A.? Wonderful videos & ideas! Got me thinking I need more space! Still too early to plant outside here in 7b though it seems.
Liking the multi sow method touched upon. Great idea if it works well !
Liking those new expensive metal corrugated raised beds! Splashed out for yourself at Christmas then?! They look like that Australian guys who’s big on YouTube and they look decent as well as stylish. Thanks for the recent video
? Caucasian perennial spinach ? Highly highly recommend. Big tall fast climber too.
Useful Info Thanks😁
Can you give any advice on controlling leatherjackets? I'm a new gardener and have recently found dozens in my polytunnel and I'm hardly even growing anything in there yet. Help!
Compost is false. The only thing that makes soil richer is water and sea salt
Love gardening
I got my peas planted yesterday. They are germinating on my bedroom windowsill now. It's a south facing window and the room is always dead warm. Planting my second early potatoes in the next few weeks. I don't have a greenhouse.
