* 2 slices thick cut bacon, chopped * 1 pound Brussels sprouts, sliced in half * 1/4 cup heavy cream * 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese * 1 tablespoon minced garlic * 1/2 cup shedded gruyere cheese * salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. 2. In a large oven safe skillet brown the bacon until crispy, remove from the skillet and set aside on a paper towel lined plate. 3. Add the sliced Brussels sprouts cut side down to the skillet, allow the sprouts to cook undisturbed in the bacon grease for 4-5 minutes. Flip when the sprouts are golden brown. Cook 2-3 more minutes and remove from the skillet. 4. Wipe the skillet clean and add heavy cream, garlic and parmesan. Let the mixture simmer over medium low for a few minutes until it begins to bubble. Be sure to stir, otherwise the cheese will stick to the bottom of the pan. When a thick Alfredo sauce has formed remove from heat. 5. Add the sprouts cut side down and top with the shredded cheese and half the bacon. 6. Bake at 375 degrees F for 15 minutes. Add the additional bacon, salt and pepper to taste, serve immediately.
