I am so excited about the extra videos, especially the one about direct seeding, and the potato videos! Thanks Brian!
I recommend you create a gardening app!
9b CA (Morgan Hill). Another great video. My vegetables are grown in elevated beds (almost 70 yrs. old with a bad back), so they are not in the ground. There isn't any information out there on how to best amend the soil from one harvest to the next. Also, I wonder about wether I should plant peas, in the same planter ea. year. If not, I wonder why? Thank you so much!
Love the idea of using Tulle for bird protection!! The plastic netting was crazy-making — went straight the trash once I got it off of my berries!
My neighbor cuts his giant hibiscus down to the ground in mid fall and it is stunning each summer. Zone 6a❄️❄️🌬️
I plant tulips in the ground.. living in a cold wet climate.
Kinda wish your videos weren't so long. Just want the info. Maybe some time stamps or chapter markers would help find the info people are looking for.

I'm looking forward for your video on growing moringa!
We grow early potatoes (Red Norland) in grow bags. We do our main crop of potatoes (Yukon Gold) in a Ruth Stout bed.
Zone 6 here and thinking it is to early for so much, but I've had to prune the roses because new growth is already coming out. I know we will get bad weather before March is over. I will wait until end of March to fertilize. I fear for the new growth.
Probably starting to sound like a broken record. Seems that now every time I respond to one of your videos I get a notice of something won or similar from someone on telegram. Got two this morning. We love watching your channel although it is a bit aggravating and these scam emails coming through!
Great info! Using large pieces of tooling is a good idea! I used smaller pink pieces that I had left over to cover sections of my garden. Then the birds used it to build their nests!!! I can’t win but will try large sections now!!! Thank you!
My raised beds settled 3-4” this winter. I was planning on adding compost to bring it back up, but you mentioned in the video mulch. What should I add?
Great advice! I will definitely be doing tulle this year.
I’ve had two snakes get stuck in the bird netting and well, they twisted and spun in it until their demise. Yes I’m moving my strawberries this year😂😂
Love your videos. I try to watch them all, even if the subject isn't relevant to my gardening right now. I always want to learn anything I can about gardening.
I have one question/suggestion: I'm not sure if you've ever done Winter Sowing? I learned about it over fall 2020.
I had just, finally, moved into my current home with a decent sized yard. I had been in a one bedroom co-op for a while. So I was doing research online to refresh and learn new, before starting my garden. I found your tomato videos and I've been watching since. 😊
In the past, (past as in before Google) I was never successful with seeds. I didn't have the money or space to set up grow lights and heating mats. I didn't understand about hardening off. But with this method of sowing, I did all my gardening from seeds last year. And your book, about companion planting was so helpful. I never cared about flowers before. But last I had a lot last year. They were so helpful and beautiful. I will be doing more this year!
Thank you!
I have just purchased this mat. Do you recommend 77F for seedlings( I have sweet pepper seedlings and I forgot to put them in hydrogen peroxide first)
Or 77F for dahlias
Will it help with peppers? My tomatoes germinated already
Thanks fo the videos and greting from Europe! I am having a problem with some of my plants I am starting from seeds.. Never had this problem before in Northern Finland, but now I am in Germany and the plants start well, but they die soon after.. less than an inch they wither.. what could it be? soil? water? what? I even had some plant lights here, but some tomatos and all arugula I plant keep dying.. I have them on windowsill with quite much light.. there is a heater below the windowsill, but I don't think it is too hot… anyways, I don't get what is happening..
Thanks for this video. I was just creating my garden project plan. Can you share what zone you are in. I’m in zone 5. It’s still a little early here.
I can not wait for the Ruith Stout potato video! I have never heard of it but I'm totally down for no dig.
Thank you for this info.
I noticed your grow light area, I bought the vispar P2000, its blinding bright but love it.
I don't know the exact distance I should use.
I had some leaf curl at 75%. Are you using full light at that distance that I see?
In MA we have Very acid soil so blue hydrangeas is the norm so of course- we want pink! LOL the grass is always greener….I have a problem with chipmunks , squirrels and snakes going up my GreenStalks that have strawberries!!! Toile ????
Black netting for funerals veils on black hats. It was a Victoria thing.
Any thoughts on clearing the mulch to warm the soil faster?
Depressing Wedding Dress LOL!! Giggling
I just went to a seedling class and was blown away when they said NOT to reuse old potting soil in my containers. They suggested getting new soil. They said due to pathogens but if the last few years I have reused my container soil (and added some new to it after compacted down from winter) then not sure why> Its an expense.
Excellent as usual!
Hey Brian, how long ago were the tomatoes and eggplants started? I'm trying to use you as a benchmark to compare my seedlings' progress. Thanks!
Where did you get Moringa seeds? I take it daily & it is expensive for me. Could you sell me some? I’m in SC. I would send the money & a SASE. Thanks so much.
I was going to paint rocks to look like strawberries to teach the birds that my berries were no good. But now, I'm getting Tuile!
Tulle was a game-changer for me last year. But watch out if you have holes or gaps. Fix 'em because the pests will find them, even cabbage moths!
