I sauteed the roux and rubbed the chicken with variety of spices. I used a mix of homemade beef and chicken stock and added btb. Also replaced some of the cream with buttermilk and added hot sauce and lemon juice.
I understand why those who may have followed the recipe to the t wouldn’t like it, but their comments armed me with modifications that made it good for me and the family. 8/10… will probably make again

I got to be completely honest. I did not like the one I made a few weeks ago. Neither did my wife. I followed the recipe exactly. It wasn’t bad, we just aren’t making it again. I think that soup just has a good publicist. Next time I’ll stick to pot roast.
