People keep giving us 누룽지 (crispy rice) and I really want to use it but can’t find any recipes (other than how to make more). My husband said to just boil it with water but there must be more that I can do with it right?

Edit to add: they have been living in my freezer and I’m needing the space back but don’t want to throw them away.

I got you now . I remember wayyy back my mom use to put it with water as a drink.

  4. TT___TT Sending me zip-lock bags full of 누룽지 is also my mom’s love language.

I sometimes make it in the morning for breakfast. Just add water and eat with with banchan, like oatmeal that you can mix with banchan.

If I want something a bit more substantive, I make a chicken jook nooroongji. I usually just make mine with chicken stock and leftover rotisserie chicken, but I think there are more involved recipes online you can find (this one looks amazing [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0cRtuLWABQ&ab_channel=%5B%EC%9C%A4%EC%9D%B4%EB%A0%A8%5D50%EB%85%84%EC%9A%94%EB%A6%AC%EB%B9%84%EA%B2%B0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0cRtuLWABQ&ab_channel=%5B%EC%9C%A4%EC%9D%B4%EB%A0%A8%5D50%EB%85%84%EC%9A%94%EB%A6%AC%EB%B9%84%EA%B2%B0))

I once tried making kkori tang nooroongji but it turned out too greasy for my liking. But maybe I should have parboiled the oxtail a bit more.

We only eat this when we’re sick, so we are always stocked up on it.

Add to green tea for a comforting drink.

Add sugar, cinnamon, and crushed pine nuts. Warm in oven until sugar is melted and nuts are toasty.

Crush in mortar and pestle and use as a crunchy salad topping.
